Matti Clements runs one of Victoria’s leading sports psychology consultation units, Mental Edge Consulting.

Mental Edge Consulting was formed in 2004 when it became clear, through her work with the Australian Institute of Sport and South Australian Sports Institute, that there was a lack of available quality sports psychology services for both elite and developmental athletes and performers in South Australia.

Through Matti’s various work environments; she consults with athletes of various ages, ability levels and sports.

The work involved with each of the various population groups includes:

Individual consultations focusing on clinical and social issues (eg. depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, relationship concerns, personality disorders)
Performance enhancement workshops for elite and developmental athletes and coaches (eg. psychological skills training, personal and life skills development and group dynamics)
Individual consultations focusing on performance enhancement issues
Development of interventions to resolve psychological problems
Report writing with recommended strategies/interventions to enhance the mental health/life skills of individuals
Liaising with coaching staff, medical staff (eg. team doctors, psychiatrists) and family members in order to aid psychological intervention

Matti is a fully registered member of the South Australian Psychological Board and is currently completing her PhD at Swinburne University in the area of emotional intelligence in elite sport
